Our cafeteria has become a madhouse over the past few weeks. Our amazing Lunch room monitors came up with a new strategy, in which they hold up one of 3 different colored visual "signals" for the students, depending on the volume level of the noise. Green sign says, "Way to Go!", Yellow sign says "Check Yourself", & Red sign says, "Silent". This past week, our 3rd graders demonstrated that they had completely forgotten what the procedures & expectations were for the lunchroom signals. So we took the opportunity to have our students write detailed reflections about what following the directives of what our lunch room is suppose to "Look Like" & what it should "Sound Like" when they see each of these signs. One of my littles wrote this true confession about what's really happening during the "Check Yourself" sign appears! Made me giggle!!
